A dressing table gathers the getting-ready area into its own corner of the bedroom or walk-in closet. Varalli has 18 dressing table models, found across seven collections. Portofino, Puglia and Montera have both a dressing table and a walk-in closet dressing table. Salina, Valencia, Formentor and Calvi each have one dressing table. The Caruso, Donati, Fabbri, Giordano, Marini, Monti, Perra and Rinaldi dressing tables stand outside any collection.
The walk-in closet dressing table, as its name suggests, is the model conceived together with the walk-in closet. The bedroom dressing table is read together with the rest of the room, especially the chest of drawers and the nightstand. The dressing tables are made to the size of the space in our Modoko workshop in Ümraniye, and the finish and color are decided for each project.
Light decides where a dressing table goes. When daylight falls on the face from the front or the side, the mirror casts no shadow; a table with its back to the window always depends on artificial light. Balanced lighting around the mirror and space in front of the table to pull out an ottoman are the basis of a practical getting-ready area. Where should a dressing table go in the room?
A wall where daylight falls on the face from the front or the side is the best place, so no shadow forms in the mirror. If the window is not suitable, plan balanced artificial lighting around the mirror. Also leave comfortable space in front of the table to sit.
What is the difference between a dressing table and a walk-in closet dressing table?
The walk-in closet dressing table is conceived together with the walk-in closet, while the dressing table is placed in the bedroom. Portofino, Puglia and Montera offer both, so you can choose based on which room you set up your getting-ready area in.
