Sideboard and Display Cabinet Models
Sideboards and display cabinets take on the storage side of the dining room. A sideboard keeps plates, linens and serving sets out of sight behind its doors, while a display cabinet shows off what it holds. Varalli has 11 pieces, and all nine collections include a display cabinet. Portofino, Rovello, Puglia, Salina, Valencia, Montera, Pylos and Calvi include a Kitchen Display Cabinet; Salina also has a Dining Display Cabinet, and Formentor has a Wine Display Cabinet. The Mia Sideboard is independent of any collection.
The kitchen display cabinets also appear among the kitchen storage systems, and the Formentor Wine Display Cabinet is also shown alongside the bookcases and bar units. If the kitchen and the dining area share the same volume, a display cabinet works as a transition piece between the two; in an enclosed dining room, a sideboard or dining display cabinet carries the weight of the wall. All pieces are made to the size of the space in our Modoko workshop in Ümraniye. The finish and color are decided for each project.
When placing a display cabinet, you need to think in advance about what will go inside it. Frequently used plates should be within easy reach, and pieces to be displayed at eye level. There should be enough space in front for the doors to open comfortably and for someone getting up from the table to pass. The language of the collection is decisive here as well: Pylos creates a calm backdrop with smoked wood and stone, while Salina works with navy and brass accents on a cream base.
