Dining Table Models

The dining table is the piece that shapes the layout of the room more than any other. The chairs around it, the clearance for passing and the lighting above are all arranged according to where the table stands. Varalli has 26 tables. The tables of eight collections make up part of them: Portofino, Rovello, Puglia, Salina, Montera, Pylos and Calvi include a Dining Table, and Portofino, Montera and Formentor include a Kitchen Table. Models such as Colombo, Fabbri, Giordano, Horizonte, Leone, Moretti, Rosso and Vitali can be chosen independently of any collection.

The distinction between a kitchen table and a dining table usually lies in how often it is used. A kitchen table stands in or right next to the kitchen for breakfast and everyday meals, while a dining table is set up in the area reserved for large gatherings and guests. All tables are made to the size of the space in our Modoko workshop in Ümraniye, and the finish and color are settled for each project.

When choosing a table, it helps to work backward from the number of chairs. Each chair needs comfortable room along the edge of the tabletop, and enough space behind it to sit down and get up. In a long, narrow room a rectangular tabletop usually works better, while in a room closer to square a more compact form does.
