Console Models
A console is the piece that answers the wall behind the table in a dining room, offers a surface during serving and gives the room a focal point. It can take on the same role in an entryway, a hallway or behind a sofa. Varalli has 12 consoles. Eight collections have their own console: Portofino, Rovello, Puglia, Salina, Valencia, Montera, Formentor and Calvi. Colombo, Fiore, Horizonte and Vivienne are consoles independent of any collection.
Consoles and sideboards are often confused. A sideboard offers storage behind doors and holds serving sets, while a console usually has a slimmer body and is used for its surface and its appearance. If you have many things to store, sideboards and display cabinets are the right starting point; if you want to make use of a narrow wall, consoles are. When a collection console is chosen, the piece shares a common language with the other furniture of the same collection. Consoles are made to the size of the space in our Modoko workshop in Ümraniye, and the finish and color are decided for each project.
The top of a console is one of the most eye-catching surfaces in a room. A mirror or a painting, lamps beside it and a few objects are often enough; filling every corner tires the surface. The length of the console should also be considered together with the mirror or painting that will hang above it, so that the two sit in balance on the wall.
